AnlaB fUr das Entstehen der vorliegenden Veroffentlichung waren die seit geraumer Zeit zu beobachtenden Entwicklungen in der Marktforschung. Dabei sind neben der Verfeinerung klassischer Methoden vor aHem die Neuentwicklung von Verfahren zur Informationsgewinnung sowie die Erarbeitung anwendungs orientierter Auswertungsverfahren augenfallig. So haben zunehmend benutzer freundliche Software-Programme wie SPSS, SAS und MDS(X) die Diffusion beispielsweise multivariater statistischer Analysemethoden in Wissenschaft und Praxis gleichermaBen beschleunigt. Vor diesem Hintergrund ist es das Anliegen des Lehrbuches, Studenten im Hauptstudium und interessierten Praktikern einen Einblick in Vorgehensweise und Probleme der modernen Marktforschung und ihrer Methoden zu vermitteln. Dariiber hinaus soli der Leser das Erlernte anhand von Fragen und Aufgaben rekapitulieren sowie zur Losung problemorientierter Fallstudien anwenden. Mein besonderer Dank fUr die kritische Durchsicht des Manuskriptes, zahl reiche konstruktive Verbesserungsvorschliige sowie wertvolle Ergiinzungen gilt Herrn Dr. G. Schnetkamp, Herrn Dipl.-Kfm. F.
