Dans notre cadre de recherche, nous nous situerons dans la théorie de l’autorégulation des comportements afin de comprendre les troubles alimentaires. Ce modèle permettra de mieux saisir les facteurs psychosociaux intervenant dans ces troubles. Notre objectif est de savoir si les profils de risque de l’anorexie mentale, de la boulimie nerveuse ainsi que de l’obésité sont identiques dans la population polonaise et française. Nos résultats indiquent que le profil des patientes anorexiques polonaises est proche du profil des patientes anorexiques françaises. Il y a deux variables indépendantes qui se retrouvent de façon identiques: la première concerne l’intériorisation de la colère et la deuxième concerne les conflits dans les buts de développement intellectuel. Les facteurs prédictifs de la boulimie ne se ressemblent pas dans nos deux populations de recherche. Les facteurs de risque de devenir obèse ne sont pas semblables dans la population polonaise et française. Les variables utilisées dans cette étude rendent peu compte de la problématique des personnes obèses montrant ainsi que les facteurs associés à l’obésité diffèrent de ceux associés aux troubles de la conduite alimentaire.
