Description

Another tap in Dormer's famous "Shark line" is the E383 metric fine machine tap. The colour coded rings on the shank of the tap indicate which material the tap is best suited to cut. In this case, the blue ring means the E383 taps are best for creating threads in stainless steel. The taps have a spiral flute design, meaning they are ideal for threading blind holes (holes which do not go through the work piece). The taps will give outstanding performance and extended tool life, being made from powder metal High Speed cobalt and the possibility of work piece material sticking to the cutting edge is greatly reduced by the steam tempered finish, assuring you of a clean and accurate thread. Finally, the E383 taps are manufactured to conform to the German Institute for Standardization. Available from M6 to M20, E383 "Shark Line" taps are a great choice when threading stainless steel.
