E472 metric coarse machine taps are part of Dormer's Shark Line program of taps, where each tap has a coloured ring on the shank to show for which work piece material they should be used. The E472 taps have a green ring so you know they are designed specifically for tapping in non-ferrous materials such as aluminium. The premium powder metal High Speed cobalt used in manufacture provides superior performance and extended tool life, whilst the special Super B coating further promotes tool life and improves performance when threading harder materials. E472 metric coarse green Shark machine taps have a spiral point for efficient threading of holes all the way through the work piece.
