The E288 machine tap from Dormer produces metric fine threads and is available in sizes from M5 to M12. It is a flute less tap (sometimes called a forming tap) to thread through and blind holes without creating chips. Manufactured from High Speed cobalt and with a titanium nitride coating, the E288 will give you longer tool life and improved performance, particularly when threading under high pressure and friction. Manufactured to conform to the German Institute for Standardization, the E288 is suitable for tapping softer materials such as aluminium, steel and stainless steel.
