Neither he nor anyone else knew where they came from, but he immediately realized they contained the finest brandy he had ever tasted. ""A brandy to conquer the world"" he thought. And that is why he named it after the Spanish King, Carlos I. Since then, all our brandies are aged in sherry casks and made using the unparalleled Criaderas and Solera system in which young brandies are mixed with more mature blends. Production and ageing: Carlos I Pedro Ximénez is aged in specially selected casks from our PX Viejo Solera, founded in 1902. This unique Solera Gran Reserva Brandy offers a sensory voyage through fine, fruity aromas, intertwined with elegant touches of toasted cocoa and liquorice that arise from our unique sherry casks where the most refined Pedro Ximénez wines of the Osborne House aged for more than 100 years. Tasting notes: Appearance - Mahogany color with intense reddish reflections. Nose - Notes of caramelized oak wood, roasted cocoa, black liquorice get along in perfect harmony with notes of raisins and fig bread from Solera PX Viejo. Palate - Velvety, it is lengthened on the palate by elegant touches of caramelised oak and hints of raisins. Serving suggestions: Enjoy Carlos I PX on its own.
