CARLOS I AMONTILLADO · BRANDY DE JEREZ SOLERA GRAN RESERVA The history of Carlos I brandies dates back to 1889, when a cellermaster in Jerez discovered some mysterious casks in a corner of his cellar. Neither he nor anyone else knew where they came from, but he immediately realized they contained the finest brandy he had ever tasted. ""A brandy to conquer the world"" he thought. And that is why he named it after the Spanish King, Carlos I. Since then, all our brandies are aged in sherry casks and made using the unparalleled Criaderas and Solera system in which young brandies are mixed with more mature blends.
