Die Preiszufriedenheit der Kunden ist einer der Hauptfaktoren im Kaufprozess und ausschlaggebend für die spätere Kundenbindung. Alexander Pohl entwickelt die beziehungsorientierte Preistheorie, eine Erweiterung der bisherigen preistheoretischen Ansätze, und präsentiert ein Modell, welches die Entstehung und die Auswirkungen von Preiszufriedenheit erklärt. Die abgeleiteten Hypothesen unterzieht er einer empirischen Prüfung am Beispiel der Tourismus- und Airlinebranche. Konkret wird die Preiszufriedenheit der Kunden von Billigfluggesellschaften im Vergleich zu Pauschalreisekunden untersucht. Die gewonnenen Erkenntnisse liefern Ansatzpunkte zur Gestaltung der Preispolitik und des Nachkaufmarketing.
