About the Author Christer Jönsson is Professor of Political Science at Lund University, Sweden. His research interests include international negotiation, diplomacy and the role of transnational networks in international cooperation. He is author of Communication in International Bargaining (1990) and co-author of International Cooperation in Response to AIDS (1995) and Organizing European Space (2000). He has written the chapter on ′Diplomacy, Bargaining and Negotiation′ in the SAGE Handbook of International Relations (2002). Richard Langhorne is Professor of Political Science and founding Director of the Center for Global Change and Governance at Rutgers University at Newark, New Jersey. He was previously Director and Chief Executive of Wilton Park, British Foreign and Commonwealth Office. He is co-author of The Practice of Diplomacy: Its Evolution, Theory and Administration (1995), author of The Coming of Globalization: Its Evolution and Contemporary Consequences (2001) and co-editor and chief contributor to Guide to International Relations and Diplomacy (2002).
