Product Description Preventive Diplomacy (PD) has been recognized as a useful tool to address security issues in the Asia-Pacific region. A step by step exploration of a PD mode on the basis of consensus compatible with the regional situation has become the common will of countries in the region. Since the region is facing various new challenges, innovation in theories and practices of PD is required. This book intends to promote discussions on the new ideas and new approaches of PD in the region, which can be effectively used to address the needs of the region and promote peace and security. About the Author <p>Dr Guo Yanjun is Director of the Institute of Asian Studies at China Foreign Affairs University. He completed his PhD in International Politics at Shandong University in 2007. He worked at Peking University as a post-doctorate research fellow from 20092011. He specializes in study of international rivers and transboundary water resources management, especially the Lancang-Mekong river water management. He has published relevant writings and articles both at home and abroad on transboundary water resources management. He also serves as a research fellow at the Innovation Center on National Territorial Sovereignty and Maritime Rights. As a member of the NEAT China (Network of East Asian Think-tanks), NACT China (Network of ASEAN-China Think-tanks) and NTCT China (Network of Trilateral Cooperation Think-tanks), he has been involved in many track II diplomacy processes in the past years.</p><p>Dr Li Fujian is a Research Fellow of the Institute of Asian Studies at China Foreign Affairs University. Fujian obtained his first degree in Business Administration from Shandong University (China) as well as a M.Sc. in International Business from the University of Birmingham (UK), and PhD in Political Science and International Relations from the University of Western Australia. Fujian's research interests are centered on China's regional relations.</>
