In fact, the importance of a human translator before, during, and after machine processing, cannot be overemphasised as human intervention is the best way to ensure the translation quality of machine translation. This volume explores the role of a human translator in machine translation from various perspectives, affording a comprehensive look at this topical research area. This book is essential reading for anyone involved in translation studies, machine translation or interested in translation technology. About the Author Chan Sin-wai is Professor in the School of Humanities and Social Science, The Chinese University of Hong Kong, Shenzhen. He was formerly Professor and Chairman of the Department of Translation, The Chinese University of Hong Kong. He was also Director of the Master of Arts in Computer-aided Translation Programme and Director of the Centre for Translation Technology. He is Visiting Professor of Harbin Engineering University, Visiting Professor of Beihang University, Visiting Professor of Dailian Maritime University, and was a member of the Translation Technology Committee of the International Federation of Translators (FIT).
