À partir des méthodes et textes supports à l’enseignement du français et de l’anglais, langues officielles du savoir et donc du pouvoir, l’étude analyse le discours de formation scolaire entre 1982 et 2002, de la maternelle au secondaire au Cameroun. S’inscrivant dans la perspective pragmatique, la démarche n’est pas moins pluridisciplinaire qui scrute la place des actes de parole dans l’univers des relations sociales qui lient les individus entre eux et conditionnent leur rapport au monde. En posant que, dans le processus de formation des stratégies s’exercent entre le statut social des protagonistes du circuit communicatif et le statut langagier des protagonistes que construit la manifestation langagière, l’analyse établit comment les représentations androcentristes générées par le discours de formation sont susceptibles d’influencer notablement la personnalité en cours de construction des apprenants. Elle induit l’urgence de la prise en compte du paradigme « genre » dans le choix des supports convoqués dans l’enseignement, afin que le discours de formation cesse d’être en porte-à-faux avec le discours politique dominant qui se veut égalitariste et même avec la réalité sociétale.
