Performance management gained popularity in the 1980s as governments around the world were reforming public sector institutions for efficiency and effectiveness.Performance management systems was introduced in Botswana's public sector in 1999 for the same reasons.This book critically evaluates the effetctiveness of the key performance indicator based performance management system in the context of a developing country.
