Kirylo is Associate Professor of education in the College of Education and Human Development at Southeastern Louisiana University. He has taught at the University of South Alabama, Universidad Evángelica del Paraguay, and the University of Alabama at Birmingham, and for many years at the elementary school level; he is the recipient of several teaching awards. His research interests are in the areas of teacher leadership, curriculum development, literacy, and critical pedagogy.
