This book analyzes crisis communication in Asia, focusing on how culture (broadly defined) plays a central role in the way a crisis develops and is resolved. Using the case study method, this book offers the reader glimpses of the variety of cultures in the continent, displaying the complexity of the cross-cultural process of conducting crisis communication in this diverse environment. Each of these cases addresses the onset, evolution, and resolution of the crisis. The contributors are seasoned practitioners who have done crisis communication work in this continent and have used the same framework of five environmental variables that define culture in this book: political culture, economic systems, societal culture, media systems, and activist environments.
