The Hailege L293D Motor Drive Shield is an expansion board designed for controlling DC motors and stepper motors with precision and reliability. This module supports up to 4 bidirectional DC motors with PWM speed control offering approximately 0.5% resolution, as well as 2 stepper motors with forward and reverse control, single or double step modes, staggered or micro-step operation, and rotation angle control. The L293D chip provides 0.6A per bridge (peak 1.2A) with thermal shutdown protection, operating within a voltage range of 4.5V to 36V, making it suitable for various motor types and power supplies up to 10 volts. Large terminal blocks accommodate wire gauges from 10-22AWG, simplifying wiring connections. The board includes pull-down resistors to keep motors stopped at power-up, a reset button for system control, and 2 dedicated external power terminals separating logic and motor drive power. Tested compatible with Arduino Mega, Diecimila, and Duemilanove boards, this shield offers strong driver library support and multi-function capability for hobbyists and engineers.
