Rhum Agricole from Martinique is distilled from pure sugarcane juice and produced according to the strict rules of the French AOC (Appellation d’Origine Contrôlée), testifying the premium quality and unique terroir of Martinique rhum production. Fresh sugarcane is pressed then fermented and distilled to preserve natural aromas and flavors of terroir and the natural vegetal character of the sugarcane. 100% made from the aromatic free-run juice of sugarcane, not molasses. The aging is done in new French oak, new American oak or ex-American Bourbon barrels according to the cellar master needs. Clément VSOP was aged during a minimum of 4 years in oak and ex-Bourbon barrels at Habitation Clément. During this period, the rum obtained this beautiful amber colour and its distinctive woody and vanilla notes with a finish that reminisces the smoke of the Bourbon barrel.
