Product Description Gran PATRÓN Piedra is an ultra-premium, barrel aged tequila. Each of the tequilas in the Grand PATRÓN range has unique features, and for Piedra (Spanish for “stone”), it’s the fact that it’s entirely crafted using the centuries-old tahona process, and then aged for over three years in oak barrels. Only the finest and sweetest 100% Weber Blue Agave is used. At the heart of the plant is the piña, which is hand-chopped and baked in small brick ovens. It is then crushed, using only a tahona – a two-ton, volcanic stone wheel. PATRÓN has more tahonas than any other distillery in the world. The tahona process used to make this PATRÓN tequila brings out exceptional intensity in the agave which is balanced with the flavours that result from barrel ageing. Both French and American oak barrels are used, and the tequila rests in them for over three years. This allows it to harness the flavours of oak, while deepening in hue. Over time, caramelised warm accents develop and aromas such as vanilla, honey, spices and dried fruit intensify. Quite simply, Gran PATRÓN Piedra impresses.
