Description

Das Radikalfängerverhalten einer Reihe von 36 Phenolen, 17 Anilinen und 11 heterocyclischen Verbindungen gegenüber Wasserstoffperoxid und DPPH wurde untersucht. Bei der Wasserstoffperoxid-Radikalfängeraktivität sind die Anilinen aufgrund der Reduktionseigenschaften der Anilinverbindungen aktiver als die Phenole. Bei der DPPH-Radikalfängeraktivität sind die Phenolverbindungen hingegen aufgrund der geringeren Bindungsdissoziationsenergien (BDE) von O-H im Vergleich zu N-H aktiver als die Anilinverbindungen. Es wurde festgestellt, dass die antioxidative Aktivität in Bezug auf die Verbindungsstruktur von der Anzahl und Position der enthaltenen aktiven Gruppe (-OH oder -NH2) abhängt. Die ortho-Position erwies sich aufgrund ihrer Fähigkeit zur Bildung intramolekularer Wasserstoffbrückenbindungen (iHB) als die aktivere. Das Vorhandensein einer doppelten aromatischen Ringstruktur in Phenol- und Anilinverbindungen wirkt sich in beiden Tests positiv auf die Radikalfängeraktivität aus. Elektronenziehende Gruppen wirken sich positiv auf die Wasserstoffperoxid-Radikalfängeraktivität aus, haben jedoch einen negativen Effekt auf die DPPH-Radikalfängeraktivität. Die schützende Rolle der aktivsten Phenol- und Anilinverbindungen im Linolsäuremodell wurde ebenfalls untersucht.
