O presente estudo destinava-se a comparar o efeito da utilização do dictogloss e da instrução de processamento na precisão de escrita dos alunos de EFL. Para atingir o objectivo deste estudo, 56 adolescentes iranianos participantes no nível elementar foram homogeneizados e seleccionados entre 90 alunos na escola de línguas Parsayan, Teerão, com base no resultado da amostra piloto do Key English Test (KET). Estes participantes foram divididos aleatoriamente em dois grupos experimentais com 28 participantes em cada: grupos de instrução de dictogloss e de processamento. Num grupo as tarefas de dictogloss e no outro as tarefas de instrução de processamento foram praticadas através de 8 sessões. No final dos tratamentos, foi administrada uma escrita de sequência fotográfica como pós-teste a ambos os grupos. A pontuação média de ambos os grupos no pós-teste foi comparada através de um teste t independente de amostras. O resultado rejeitou a hipótese nula, demonstrando que os participantes no grupo dictogloss tiveram um desempenho significativamente superior ao do grupo de instruções de processamento no que diz respeito à sua exactidão de escrita.
