A educação inclusiva requer mudanças na prática do professor, portanto é necessário refletirmos sobre como essa prática pode ajudar o aluno deficiente visual. Abordamos as dificuldades enfrentadas por esses alunos em sala de aula comum, ao mesmo tempo em que reforçamos a importância dessa convivência para o desenvolvimento de todos os alunos. Nosso estudo foi realizado em uma escola estadual e o foco principal é mostrar que as representações dos objetos matemáticos é um ponto crítico para os alunos que não contam com o recurso visual e algumas práticas, usadas para facilitar o aprendizado dos alunos com visão normal, não ajudam e podem até atrapalhar o de um aluno com deficiência visual, principalmente o aluno cego. Destacamos a importância da abordagem desse assunto em cursos de formação de professores, para que estes estejam preparados para lidar com situações de inclusão em sala de aula.
