Nicht selten setzen Arbeitgeber in ihren Stellenausschreibungen sogar mehrere absolvierte Praktika als Bedingung voraus. Ursprünglich als praktische Erfahrungssammlung parallel zum Studium vorgesehen, wird diese Beschäftigungsform Umfragen zufolge jedoch immer häufiger über das Ende des Studi-ums ausgedehnt. Bezeichnend für diese Entwicklung steht der Begriff der so genannten „Generation Praktikum". Ein solcher Trend wirft die Frage nach dem Stellenwert postgradueller Praktika auf: Ist der klassische Berufseinstieg für Absolventen schwieriger geworden und stellen Praktika eine neue Einstiegsform dar? Oder ist die Entwicklung auf grundlegend veränderte Rahmenbedingungen zurückzuführen? Was schließlich kennzeichnet die betroffenen Absolventen und deren Motive?
