Questioning is the staple diet of classroom interaction and an indispensable tool for teachers yet teachers? inappropriate techniques of questioning may deprive learners from obtaining the maximum benefits from teachers? questioning; and be detrimental for their intellectual growth. Teachers rationalize that they pose questions in this way to accommodate their learners? abilities and needs, especially in national examinations; at the same time to fulfill the requirement of the curriculum, education authorities and society?s expectations. Therefore, for teachers to improve their techniques of posing questions there is a need for a paradigm shift in the education system. This book is recommended as a reference for those who are interested in the classroom practice pertaining to questioning; and conducting research in the fully qualitative paradigm. It showcases techniques of critiquing research to situate one?s study in the existing literature of the topic, triangulation of the findings from the various instruments to inform the phenomenon investigated; and discussing and reporting on a qualitative study.
