En tant que ressortissants reconnus d'un Etat, nous ne faisons plus attention à l'importance du rôle de notre nationalité, véritable "droit d'avoir des droits". Sans elle, les personnes sont condamnées à vivre en marge de la société, sans la jouissance des droits les plus élémentaires comme le droit de travailler, de voyager, de s'établir durablement, d'être protégé par son Etat. Un statut a toutefois été mis en place par la Convention des Nations unies du 28 septembre 1954. Qui peut en bénéficier ? Quels droits sont accordés aux apatrides ? Ce statut permet-il une protection optimale de ces derniers ? Existe-t-il d'autres sources de protection des apatrides, au-delà de cette convention internationale ? Qu'en est-il de la protection mise en place en Belgique ? Cet ouvrage vise à donner des réponses, entre autres, à ces questions et à dresser un état des lieux, le plus complet possible, de la protection des apatrides, tant aux niveaux international et européen qu'au niveau belge.
