About the Author Dr. Kim MacInnis is professor and chairperson of the Sociology Department at Bridgewater State University in Bridgewater, Massachusetts. She received her Ph.D. in sociology from Northeastern University and her M.A. in sociology from Dalhousie University in Nova Scotia, Canada. She is a faculty associate for the Sexual Violence Advocacy and Support Center at Bridgewater State University.
