Description The Cristallo is our short sleeve, warm, moisture-wicking, and skin-friendly winter base layer. It naturally inhibits odour formation and is perfect for intense days in the mountains. It takes its name from Monte Cristallo, the striking mountain northeast of Cortina d'Ampezzo. Moisture-wicking, thermoregulating, comfortable. The Alpine Merino Responsive fabric is a hybrid blend made from 78% merino wool and 22% polyamide. It wicks moisture away from the body and dries quickly. The synthetic fibres are enhanced with our patent-protected responsive technology. It is based on a special blend of natural, thermoreactive minerals that recycle the far-infrared energy (FIR) of the body and slowly release it. This results in improved performance and faster recovery and also ensures that you stay warm for longer. These benefits are maintained throughout the life of the fabric, as Responsive is an integral part of the fabric and does not wash out. Alpine Merino Responsive is also bluesign® certified. Innovative knit construction The Cristallo is made using a special knitting process in which a superfine merino yarn is spun around a nylon core. This process not only makes the resulting fiber firmer and fluffier, but also 30% lighter than comparable baselayer fibers. In addition, the high polyamide content improves its durability and stretching properties. The base layer has a body-hugging fit with a crew neck and integrated gusset in the armpit area for greater freedom of movement. It also comes completely without annoying seams.
