Description

The Relentless bass pickups start with our newly molded metal covers that add form and function. Although Billy Sheehan has always loved the sound of DiMarzio bass pickups, his playing style inspired him to modify the exterior. Billy built them up with epoxy to round off the sharp edges. In collaboration with Billy we removed all right-angled edges of a standard pair of P-bass, arched the tops to fit the radius of the fretboard/strings, and replaced the attachment with a robust 1/8" board that does not require protruding mounting screws. The Relentless pickups deliver 50% more power than traditional passive pickups and are completely quiet - virtually no electromagnetic interference. We've expanded the punch in the midrange and added snappy treble and precise bass. These pickups have a wide magnetic field so you can even bend notes without the volume dropping. Relentless pickups breathe new life into every bass, improve playability and are suitable for any style of music from Motown to Metal. Oh yes, and they love distortion.
