Description

P90 pickups are a different type. The Vintage P90™ from DiMarzio is a replica of the Gibson single coil from the late '50s with all the sharpness in the midrange that makes a P90 pickup so special. The DiMarzio Vintage P90™ starts with our calibrated dual Alnico 5 sand cast magnets and is wound on a vintage winding machine specially developed by DiMarzio This machine has been used to create the correct winding profile and frequency response, and the winding process is unique. We use vintage ribbon, braided single core connection cable and undipped coils. This design gives the Vintage P90™ its sparkling mids and the growl of a vintage Les Paul® of the 50s. Chords have a beautiful harmonic fullness, and individual tones are glassy and silky in the foreground. P90s found their way into classic recordings of the '60s and '70s, from the Beatles to Leslie West and Mountain. Chords have a warm but sparkling bite in the midrange, and individual notes pop out nicely without sounding harsh. This pickup is a replacement for any standard P90 soapbar.
