Deanston 18 Year Old Single Malt Scotch Whisky, 70 cl Our home is far from the quaint Highland distilleries that may come to mind when you think about whisky in Scotland. Formerly a bustling cotton mill that in its heyday employed 1500 people, the building and community of Deanston were facing uncertainty when it closed for good in 1965... Enter our founder; Brodie Hepburn. Our founder, Brodie Hepburn, is far from your average founder. A true pioneer, he saw huge potential in the battered old cotton mill, where others only saw challenges. He saw potential in the River Teith, with water soft enough for whisky, and the strength to power a community. He saw the people of Deanston town, with the passion and honest work ethic to become true whisky makers. Hepburn’s took a risk and it paid off. The old cotton mill was transformed into a place perfect for whisky making. On the nose of Deanston 18 Year Old Single Malt you will find notes that are quite aromatic with balanced American oak notes. Floral, malty, grassy, vanilla and honey with hints of spice and nutmeg. On the palate expect sweet and spicy notes, citrus, barley sugar, gingerbread, manuka honey and white pepper flavours. The finish is crisp and satisfying with a tingle of cloves which linger, then gently fade.. Ledaig 10 Year Old Whisky, 70 cl Established in 1798, Tobermory is The Isle of Mull’s only whisky distillery and one of the oldest commercial distilleries in Scotland. It sits at the centre of the vibrant island community from which it takes its name. Tobermory’s past however, is as colourful as the towns seafront. A chequered story marked by closures and financial troubles has, on more than one occasion, threatened its very existence. Yet with creativity and dedication, Tobermory has endured its troubles. After its most recent hiatus in production for much needed maintenance and renovation, Tobermory Distillery has in 2019, re-opened its doors and fired up its stills once more. Under the Tobermory Distillery name this Artisan Hebridean Distiller now produces Tobermory and Ledaig Single Malts and for the first time in its history, Tobermory Gin. Within our Ledaig 10 Year Old Single Malt, you can expect rich island character with tantalising hints of grass, malt, gingerbread, stewed fruit syrup and finely polished oak on the nose. The palate gives way to a smooth, velvety mouthfeel with fruity tangs and exquisitely spiced gingerbread and aniseed. The finish presents ginger and spicy oak, matched with bitter chocolate and almond that gently fades with a tail of sweet salty seas.
