BENLEE In the first half of the last century, between 1930 and 1950, Benlee was a big name. Famous boxers such as "Bomber Brown" Joe Louis, "Jersey" Joe Walcott and Rocky Marciano, three heavyweight world champions in one go. They all stood in the ring wearing Benlee boxing gloves and Benlee sports shorts. Other champions such as Jake "Raging Bull" La Motta, "Sugar" Ray Robinson and Floyd Patterson wore Benlee. Benlee started making boxing equipment in the 1930s, but gave up business in the 1960s. Punch GmbH revives the tradition and has combined its name with "his" brand, in memory of Rocky Marciano, the best boxer of all time who died in 1969: BenleeRockyMarciano.
