Essentially, the Universal Sensor takes any "volt-free" output - an electrical contact being closed - and reports it to the Fibaro Home Center. So, if you wire a Universal Sensor into your doorbell, when it's pressed the contact will close, the Universal Sensor will send a report and Fibaro will know that someone's at your door. The Home Center can then instruct the lights to flash, or music playback to pause, or even for a security camera to snap a picture of the visitor and send it to your phone - whatever action you desire in response to that particular situation.
