Conker Navy Strength Gin is a 70cl, 57% ABV British craft gin made by hand in Dorset by The Conker Distillery — Bournemouth's pioneering gin makers, founded in 2014 by former Chartered Surveyor Rupert Holloway as Dorset's first gin distillery. Bottled at the classic British Royal Navy proof of 57% (114 US proof) — the strength at which gunpowder will still ignite when soaked in spirit, and the historic test of whether a sailor's gin had been watered down — Navy Strength is the bigger, bolder, juniper-led big sister of our award-winning Dorset Dry. Inside every bottle: nine botanicals built deliberately for high-proof drinking. Pine-led juniper berries, coriander, orris root, angelica root, cassia bark, fresh lime peel and bitter orange peel form the classic London-Dry backbone. To these we add hand-picked marsh samphire, foraged from the salt marshes of Dorset's Jurassic Coast for its briny mineral edge, and English elderberries for a deep, jammy, dark-blue fruit sweetness. Each batch is distilled slowly in our copper pot still using pure New Forest spring water, then proofed precisely to 57% ABV. The nose is unapologetically big: bold piney juniper, complex warm spice and a hint of zesty citrus. The palate is oily and full-bodied — upfront juniper pine and warm savoury spice paired with the herbaceous sweetness of orange and the dark fruit of elderberry. The finish is long and lingering, with Seville orange marmalade and a warming peppery heat that holds its shape under ice and tonic. Conker Navy Strength was created in partnership with the Royal National Lifeboat Institution (RNLI), raising over £55,000 for the charity that crews Britain's volunteer lifeboats.
