Fully automatic 8 charge cycles and can be used for maintenance and charging of batteries used in automotive, motorcycle, scooter, camping, powersport, gardening and deep-cycle batteries. In this range we find BC SMART 10000+, a charger and maintainer with 4 selectable programs (CAR, BIKE, START&STOP and POWER SUPPLY to safeguard the memory of on-board devices when replacing the battery), which with its maximum charging current of 10 Amp (CAR and START/STOP) and 1 Amp (BIKE mode for motorcycles). It is designed for a complete Maintenance of all standard 12 V batteries, from lead-acid to AGM, from 1.2 Ah up to 200 Ah. Charging much faster than regular battery chargers, BC Battery Controller products can last up to 8-10 years, and can repair sulphated batteries, recover 1.25V batteries (the lowest level on the market) and is designed for use with vehicles equipped with "micro-hybrid" start/stop systems. Powered by a state-of-the-art microcomputer, BC SMART 10000+ in addition to monitoring safety and efficient battery charging, automatically minimizes energy consumption and guarantees a high level of protection thanks to its spark-proof system (anti-spark) and its protections against overloads, reverse polarity and short circuits. Fully automatic, it can always stay connected to the battery 24/7, so for whole months, even for years in a totally safe way, and also thanks to its carbon effect livery, simple design and its compact and easy handling, this product is super light and truly suitable for everyone. Thanks to the intuitive LED bar, which also guarantees perfect night vision, the BC SMART 10000+ provides us with real-time information on the battery charge level (50%, 65%, 80%, 100%) and the running cycle as well as the selected program (CAR, BIKE, START&STOP and POWER SUPPLY). Charging algorithm - charging program The charger is internally controlled by microprocessor that monitors the battery status in real time and automatically performs 8 charge cycles. • Step 1 - Initialization: Verify that one or more cells are not short-circuited and then the battery is in a position to be charged/recovered. • Step 2 - Recovery: If the battery is in extreme discharge (starting at 1.25V), the device attempts a recovery, to return it to higher voltages compatible with the next step. • Step 3 - Light Charge: If the battery is significantly discharged, the device delivers a light pulsed current to the battery to pass the critical phase. • Step 4 - Main Charge: During this phase the charger delivers full current to the battery, which can recover up to 85-90% of its capacity. • Step 5 - Desulphation / Absorption: At this stage the battery is provided with a "controlled overcharge" capable of restoring the remaining 10-15% of the battery capacity by desulfatation/recovery of lead-acid cells (for mild to medium sulphation levels). • Step 6 - Battery Analysis: The device stops power supply for a few tens of minutes and verifies that the battery is able to retain the charge received during previous charging cycles. The test is periodically repeated at regular intervals. • Step 7 - Maintenance: Thanks to a specially designed electronic circuit, the device maintains the battery charge during periods of inuse, without overheating, overcharging and water/electrolyte loss. • Step 8 - Equalization: During long-term maintenance, the device performs an equalization charge every 30 days to rebalance the battery cells, avoiding the phenomena of electrolyte stratification.
