The wines of the Grand Sud range come from the most picturesque and sunny vineyards in the south of France. Grand Sud wines were first vinified in 1999. In search of the best terroirs for perfect ripening of the grape varieties, our two oenologists Tomy Barbe and Vincent Euzet do a remarkable job in the wine regions. We work very closely with local winemakers to identify the best grape varieties and production areas. Discover Grand Sud Merlot! Merlot belongs to the Cabernet family and is native to the Libourne region. Today, it is one of the most widespread grape varieties in France and is grown on more than 200,000 hectares worldwide. It produces wines that are easy to drink, colourful, round and well balanced. Its supple tannins allow for immediate tasting. This aromatic Merlot from France, with notes of pastry and small red fruits, bears witness to many hours of sunshine. Grown on a variety of sand, clay, limestone and schist soils, it seduces with its Mediterranean bouquet of red fruit, berries, blackcurrant and cherry. Its light pink colour with fine raspberry highlights comes from red Merlot grapes harvested at full maturity and pressed at low temperature immediately after harvest. Merlot can be enjoyed as an aperitif wine or with summer salads, grilled meats or mild cheeses.
