Released in 2011, Midleton's Barry Crockett edition was named after the distillery's master distiller, and it is aged in both bourbon and new American oak barrels! Very interesting indeed and a limited release of around 2, 500 bottles per year. How fitting is it that the first ongoing bottling of a Single Pot Still whiskey under the Midleton name, pays tribute to our Master Distiller, Barry Crockett. This expression represents Barry's personal selection of old and elegant Pot Still whiskeys, exclusively matured in American bourbon barrels. The Midleton Distillery, the seat of whiskey excellence and the pot still tradition in Ireland for almost 200 years. Each and every whiskey which bears the Single Pot Still seal of Midleton Distillery carries with it the distinctive influence of this very special place.

The modern day Midleton whiskey style is characterised by elegant and fragrant distillates and the exclusive use of American bourbon barrels in their maturation

This whiskey represents Barry Crockett’s personal selection of fine and elegant whiskeys which have been distilled and laid down over the past 22 years

NOSE: Vanilla sweetness with a light floral perfume; Citrus zest combined with fresh herbs and sweet spices complimented by a touch of black pepper and charred oak

TASTE: Mouth-coating sweetness of vanilla, cinnamon and clove, enriched with a hint of green apple and unripe banana; Peppery pot still spices, along with charred American oak, add complexity

FINISH: Soft sweet spices fade leisurely leaving the final say to the charred oak and barley grains
