The Starrett 82MAZ bore gage set includes dial indicator, body, actuating rod, two adjusting wrenches, five probes and protective case. The bore gage range is 2.7 to 6.76 mm with maximum bore depth of 20.6 mm and indicator graduations of 0.002 mm. The two-point contact measurement system is suitable for detecting hole geometry problems like taper, bell-mouth and ovality. The split-ball contact is self-centring and the interchangeable probes are hard chrome-plated and polished, for precision and durability. This bore gage can be used for testing tolerance without removing the workpiece from a machine. Bore gages measure holes or bores, in a workpiece. They can measure the interior diameter of a hole at any depth, while internal micrometers can only measure to the depth of their teeth. Bore gages are typically calibrated with a setting ring.
