He has published on the history of conflict and warfare in Europe and the Mediterranean in the medieval and early modern periods, including Norman Campaigns in the Balkans 1081-1108 (2014). Aysel Yldz, Ph.D. in History (2008, Sabanc University). specializes in late Ottoman history and palaeography, with a focus on political and military history and social movements. Her publications include Crisis and Rebellion in the Ottoman Empire: The Downfall of a Sultan in the Age of Revolution (2017), and (as co-editor) War and Conflict in the Mediterrenean: A Collection of Papers (2017) .
