He was a post-doctorate research fellow at Harvard University’s Belfer Center for Science and International Affairs. He has taught at universities in North America and in Turkey, and is currently Associate Professor and Chair of the Department of International Relations at Bilkent University in Ankara, Turkey. His works include articles in such journals as Foreign Affairs, Review of International Studies, International Studies Review, International Studies Perspectives, Terrorism and Political Violence, Studies in Conflict and Terrorism, and Security Dialogue, and he is the co-editor with James N.
