Among these are the mobilization of powerful states and courts, as well as the fit between soft law and hard law arrangements. The volume comprises seven case studies written by International Relations and International Law scholars. Her research focuses on the legitimacy of international institutions and on international organizations’ and advanced democracies’ commitment to human rights. Recent work has been published in International Studies Quarterly and European Journal of International Relations.   Theresa Reinold is Assistant Professor of International Relations at Leiden University, the Netherlands. She received her PhD from Tuebingen University and has been a visiting scholar at Yale, Harvard, and New York University.
