Les applications technologiques actuelles des matériaux sont vastes, en particulier les métaux recouverts de films de nitrure. Ces dernières années, de nombreuses recherches ont été menées dans le but d'optimiser l'adhérence de ces films sur des substrats en acier afin d'élargir leur champ d'application. Les films de nitrure composés de cations métalliques, en particulier de titane, de zirconium, de chrome et d'aluminium, se sont révélés très intéressants dans les applications où la dureté de la surface, la résistance à la corrosion et la résistance au cisaillement sont requises. Cependant, l'adhésion de ces films a été la principale limitation pour les applications tribologiques qui nécessitent un grand effort mécanique de surface. Ce travail propose l'étude de techniques de dilution de l'interface film/substrat par : i) diffusion ou interdiffusion activée thermiquement et ii) variation progressive de la composition chimique de l'interface film/substrat (films fonctionnels). Les films et interfaces formés entre des films TiN et AlN et des substrats en acier AISI M2 et AISI D6 ont été étudiés.
