Südasiatische Transformationen, die Ende der 1980er und Anfang der 1990er Jahre begonnen haben, weisen Parallelen auf: Konsolidierungen werden verfehlt. Viele Staaten - Pakistan, Bangladesch, Nepal und auch Sri Lanka - pendeln sich auf niedrigem demokratietheoretischem Niveau ein. Dies zeigt die Einzelfallanalyse Pakistans, angereichert mit komparativen Elementen, die Pakistan in einen regionalen Kontext stellen. Die vier genannten Staaten erfüllen Kriterien mehrerer defekter Demokratien, die eine Konsolidierung unwahrscheinlich machen, da sie dauerhaften Charakter annehmen. Eine Analyse von acht Faktorengruppen, die eine Konsolidierung hemmen bzw. verhindern, zeigt für Pakistan Missstände und Fehlentwicklungen in allen Gruppen. Diese beeinflussen sich wechselseitig, allerdings in nachgeordneter Weise. Es ergibt sich eine Triade dominanter Faktorengruppen. Diese ?pakistanische Triade? kann mit Blick auf Nepal, Bangladesch und Sri Lanka eine südasiatische Gültigkeit beanspruchen. About the Author Dr. phil.
