DaB alles Theoretische in der Padagogik einer padagogischen Praxis entspringt und sein Ziel in der Praxis hat, wird sich im Verlauf auch unseres Bemlihens deutlich genug erweisen. Es geht urn eine sehr allgemeine padagogische Thematik. Deshalb kann flir sie nicht der Blickpunkt des Berufserziehers allein maBgebend sein. Jeder, der Jugend pflegt, lehrt, formt und flihrt, der ihr durch Geleit und Wagnis verbunden ist, der sie gewinnen oder ihr befehlen will, gehort zum Kreis der Angesprochenen. Die Vielfalt der Erscheinungen des padagogischen Verstehens, auf 'die aufmerksam zu machen sein wird, konnte namentlich manche unter denen bedrlicken oder entmutigen, die sich auf ein besonderes padagogisches Amt vorbereiten. Sie werden urn Geduld ge beten. Sie sollten einmal ebenso gelassen wie beherztdie Scheu vor Theorie zu liberwinden trachten; denn das Verhaltnis von Theorie und Praxis, von Schau und Tat ist vielschich tiger und fruchtbarer als man es heutzutage flir gewohnlich wahrhaben will. Und sie soli ten zum anderen dann, wenn die Zusammenhange diffizil erscheinen, an die Absicht des Buches denken. Diese aber liegt in einer befreienden Vergewisserung des Verstehens, das in jeder padagogischen Situation, Absicht oder MaBnahme, in jedem padagogischen Entwurf oder Vollzug beteiligt ist. Das padagogische Verstehen hat auch seine Geschichte. Mit ihr befassen wir uns nicht.
