La historia del español moderno ha sido poco explorada. En este volumen, diez investigadores demuestran que el siglo XVIII es una centuria clave, en la diacronía de la lengua española y de sus variedades diatópicas. Esta nueva mirada sobre el español dieciochesco se funda en dos hechos, principalmente: la exploración de corpus documentales novedosos y el análisis de cambios lingüísticos, en perspectiva variacionista. Con estos postulados, se describen procesos evolutivos fonéticos, morfosintácticos y léxicos, fechados en el siglo XVIII. Todos ellos suponen una significativa contribución a la historia del primer español moderno. About the Author Ma Teresa García-Godoy es profesora de la Universidad de Granada. Además, ha ejercido su actividad docente en las Universidades de Utrecht y Cambridge. Su producción científica se vincula con la historia de la lengua española, especialmente con el cambio morfosintáctico y léxico. Actualmente, se ocupa también de la elaboración de corpus del español, basados en fuentes archivísticas.
