This text is a study guide to understanding and utilizing the surveying and civil engineering tools found in Softdesk. Perfect for those people who are starting or continuing their career in surveying or civil engineering. This book adds actual design and drafting tools to basic AutoCAD training. It offers reviews of concepts and tools used in survey and civil engineering within the context of the AutoCAD environment. The first section of the text covers the foundation elements of Softdesk; point, line and curve and surface data. The second section covers the design modules of Softdesk. Each of these modules builds and extends what was learned in the first section. Beginning with the basic data types, it continues with examples using the design modules. Review of each concept and tool is facilitated by an exercise or a case study. The illustrations found throughout the text help the user to check the progress of the exercise. A 3.5" disk is also included with data files and beginning drawing files.
