His research interests also include synthesis of nanoparticles (wet-chemistry and laser ablation in liquids), nanomaterials selection (Ashby's methodology), and applications of nanomaterials (medicine, catalysis and electronics). He is also consultant for the French National Center for Scientific Research (CNRS, France) and the Executive Agency for Higher Education, Research, Development and Innovation Funding (UEFISCDI, Romania).
