Description

Around Sound is the second solo record from Mike Polizze, the musician behind Philadelphia psych-squallers Purling Hiss and Birds of Maya. This new album offers a rainier and more pensive atmosphere than his pandemic-era predecessor, Long Lost. While the record maintains a sense of playful humor and plenty of hooks, it marks a deeper evolution in his songwriting. Listeners will experience Polizze's talent for crafting memorable bucolic odes characterized by a sense of languid beauty. The album features his signature fingerstyle acoustic guitar work and finally brings to life the theme of the classic Hiss anthem, "Run from the City." This release from Paradise of Bachelors is an essential listen for fans of folk rock and thoughtful acoustic compositions.
