Description

Explore the historic Kisokaido route through this collection from Taschen. This book traces the path established in the early 1600s by Tokugawa Ieyasu, which connected Edo and Kyoto through a series of staging posts, inns, and shops. The collection features the woodblock print work of Keisai Eisen and Utagawa Hiroshige. Eisen began the series in 1835 with 24 prints, and Hiroshige completed the journey with the remaining works to reach a total of 70 prints by 1838.
