Description

In 1925 Japan during Emperor Hirohito's reign, two teenage firebrands named Koume and Akiko challenge tradition by forming their own baseball team after being told girls should become housewives instead of attending school. This scandalous move defies the male-dominated world of Japan's national pastime, mirroring the revolutionary changes sweeping through post-World War I society. As the nation reinvents itself with new sailor suit school uniforms and modern ideals, these determined girls pursue their passion for baseball against all odds. Taisho Baseball Girls captures a pivotal moment of social transformation through the eyes of young athletes breaking barriers and redefining what's possible for women in 1920s Japan.
