Description

Sony's 16-55mm f/2.8 G Series lens brings professional optical performance to APS-C mirrorless cameras in a remarkably compact package. Equivalent to 24-82.5mm on full-frame, this constant f/2.8 aperture zoom excels across street photography, travel, and everyday shooting. Two AA and two aspherical elements work alongside three ED glass elements to deliver corner-to-corner sharpness whilst keeping colour fringing to a minimum. The 9-blade circular aperture renders exceptionally smooth bokeh for creative depth-of-field control. Sony's Nano AR coating cuts flare and ghosting for punchy contrast in any lighting. Built tough with dust and moisture resistance, this G-series optic handles outdoor shooting in challenging conditions whilst the XD Linear Motor delivers fast, silent autofocus performance.

Key Features

The Sony 16-55mm f/2.8 features a constant f/2.8 aperture throughout the entire zoom range for consistent light-gathering ability across all focal lengths.

Two AA aspherical and two standard aspherical elements in the Sony 16-55mm suppress aberrations to achieve outstanding corner-to-corner resolution across the frame.

Three ED glass elements in this Sony zoom reduce chromatic aberration and colour fringing, maintaining optical purity across demanding subjects.

The 9-blade circular aperture mechanism produces naturally smooth, creamy bokeh that flatters portraits and isolates subjects beautifully.

Sony's Nano AR coating applied to the 16-55mm G lens provides superior flare and ghosting resistance for crisp, high-contrast images.

Dust and moisture resistant construction on this Sony lens enables reliable outdoor performance in rain, dust, and challenging weather conditions.

The XD Linear Motor in the Sony 16-55mm delivers fast, precise autofocus suitable for demanding real-world shooting scenarios.
