Description
The Sony SEL1224GM is a premium ultra-wide zoom lens designed for full-frame E-Mount cameras, combining a constant f/2.8 aperture with advanced optical engineering. This lens features three XA extreme aspherical elements, one aspherical element, two super ED and three ED extra-low dispersion glass elements that work together to deliver exceptional corner-to-corner sharpness and minimal chromatic aberration. The nine-blade circular aperture produces beautiful background defocus at all focal lengths from 12mm to 24mm, making it ideal for landscape, interior, and astrophotography work. Four XD Linear motors provide fast, silent autofocus with precise tracking for both stills and video. Internal focusing keeps the angle of view stable during autofocus operation, whilst the compact and lightweight G Master design makes it practical for professional and enthusiast photographers who demand optical excellence.

Key Features

The SEL1224GM features three XA extreme aspherical elements that deliver outstanding corner-to-corner resolution across the entire 12-24mm focal range.

Constant f/2.8 aperture throughout the zoom range enables consistent shallow depth-of-field capability for creative background separation in any lighting condition.

Nine-blade circular aperture on this Sony lens produces smooth, natural bokeh defocus effects with pleasing out-of-focus rendition.

Four XD Linear motors provide rapid, whisper-quiet autofocus and tracking performance for both still photography and video recording.

Internal focusing mechanism in the SEL1224GM maintains a stable angle of view during autofocus operation, benefiting composition and tripod work.

Two super ED and three ED extra-low dispersion glass elements minimise chromatic aberration and colour fringing across the frame.

Compact and lightweight G Master construction makes this 12-24mm ultra-wide lens practical for fieldwork, travel, and extended shooting sessions.
